After travelling over the famous Britannia Bridge you will discover the most beautiful Island of Anglesey. Anglesey has over 125 miles of beautiful coastline surrounding the Island, and it has never been so accessible as it is today. Travel to the Island by car along the A55 or if you prefer along the A5 which takes you through the Mountains of Snowdonia. If transport is difficult Bangor and Holyhead are on the main Intercity connection and services from most parts of the UK, or if you are travelling by sea, Holyhead is the gateway from Ireland and offers fast services from Dublin which now only takes 99 minutes. If you are travelling from abroad our nearest airport is in Manchester and is now an important access point for the UK. It takes approximately 2 hours to travel to Anglesey from the Airport. On reaching Anglesey this beautiful Island will enchant you with it's spetacular scenery, riveting history and an atmosphere all of it's own. Anglesey is a fascinating combination of the familiar and foreign. Anglesey is an ancient and historic Island which is proud of it's past. The History of Anglesey is an Integeral part of today's living on the Island, and enriches the experience of visitors and holidaymakers. Wherever you go there are stories to be told and remnants of time gone by to discover. A number of location jostle to be included in a voyage of discovery. Towns and Villages on Anglesey hide many secrets, places such as Beaumaris, a popular Victorian seaside town. With it's imposing Castle built by Edward I to quell the welsh, and it's unique Prison and Courthouse, where dark interiors hold dark secrets. Why not take a short visit to:- Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch the Village with the longest name in Britain or Llanfairpwll for short. This long name was thought up as a hoax to attract visitors to the train station in the Village. Anglesey offers an outstanding variety of landscape and wildlife. It is birdwatchers" paradise, with numerous sites with facilities for birdwatching. It is also an important breeding ground for puffins, guillemots, razorbills and is also a magnet for many varieties of wading birds and wild fowl. Wherever you go on Anglesey you will hear or see the Welsh language - an ancient tongue, one of Europe's oldest living languages. A great many people speak Welsh as their first language, though everyone also speaks English. We have our own Television channel and our own Radio Station, and also Welsh language National and local News Papers. Whatever your reason for travelling to Anglesey, whatever the weather, Anglesey has plenty to offer. From a Castle to a Sea Zoo, from bugs to butterflies to a Heritage Centre, from a working Mill to a dark Victorian prison or Lighthouse on an Island down over 400 steps at the famous South Stack. They can all be found on this exciting Welsh Island. On the outskirts of Llangefni, a small Market Town set in the heartland of Anglesey lies Tre-Ysgawen Hall (Sue Rowlands" Centre). Hidden away in the Countryside with it's peace and tranquillityis the magnificent 19th Century Stone Mansion. The Hall provides many varieties of courses as you can see from the Brochure itself. We welcome guests to stay at the Hall for the week to take part on the courses or to come as a Day Visitor. The Hall is run by the Rowlands" family and with Sue Rowlands, a famous International Medium leading some of the Courses held here at the Hall, and organising other lecturers to teach at the Hall, we have a busy and adventurous year in front of us. With friendly staff and luxurious individually decorated and en-suite bedrooms this Hall is a must be, and once entered you will discover the feeling of peace and ambience that lies here at the Hall. |
