Marques de Monistrol Rose Cava 12% vol (2)

Lovely off-dry pink sparkling wine made by the Champagne method in the Spanish town of Saint Sadurni D'Anoia.

 

Kriter Brut de Brut 1992 Extra Leger 11.5% vol. (1)

"The light and more delicate the wine, the more pleasing and refreshing its flavour". Produced in Beaune by the House of Kriter.

 

Blanquette de Limoux Brut 1988 12% vol (2)

A vintage method champenoise from Languedoc in Southern France, soft and not too dry. A blend of Mauzac, Chardonnay and Chinen Blanc grapes.

 

Cuvee Napa Brut NV Methode Champenoise 12% vol. (2)

Produced in Carlifornia by the famous Champagne house of Mumm - and it shows.

A juicy medium white from the Loire Valley, full of fruit and flavour with a racy finish.

 

Santa Carolina Chardonnay 1997 13% vol. (2)

From Chile

This is a very well made Chardonnay, produced from vineyards in the Lontue Valley in Central Chile. Highly recommended.

Launched onto the UK market in 1993. This wine clearly demonstrates the expertise of the Brown Brothers Team.

Muscadet "Sur Lie" 1996 Chateau Du Cotelet 12% vol. (1)

Light and refreshing with a tickle on the toungue, this crisp dry wine is the result of bottling "off the lees".

Produced by the "Gurk" of Spanish wines who had the foresight to but vineyards in Chile back in 1979. A superb Chilean Red wine which has a subtle blackurrant bouquet and a silky smooth flavour.

 

Anglesey Shiraz 1997 Australia 12% vol.

sturdy full bodied red with a lovely liquorice nose and ripe around voluptuous flavour.

 

Chateau Timberlay 1995 Bordeaux Superior from France 12.5% vol.

Lovely spicy bouquet, full fat and ripe flavour- lovely Long, long finish from this award winning Petit Chateau Claret.

 

Marques de Caceres Tinti 1994 Rioja Crianza 12.5% vol.

From Spain

With a hint of vanilla oak, a mouthful of subtle flavour and a long lingering aftertaste.

 

Bairrada Tinto Reserva 1982 Frei Joao from Portugal 12% vol.

You need to start with a stout, robust wine after the harvest, if you're going to put in oak barrels for four years

and then wait another six years before it's even ready for drinking. Well worth the wait

 

Dieu donne Cabernet Sauvignon 1994 from South Africa 12% vol.

From a single estate in Franschoeck Valley. The sine making skills of the French Huguenots shows through here. A good warm flavour of spice and "blackurrant" fruit. Awarded Bronze medal at the International Wine Challenge.

Gorgeous strawberry bouquet with a lovely ripe flavour with bags of fruit - a lovely wine.

Macon Blanc Villages 1996 "Domaine Seigneuret" 12.5% vol. (1)

An excellent single Domaine produced by Loren Et Fils. Made from 100%. Cahrdonnay not far from the village which gave it's name to this grape variety. Very clean and refreshing.

 

DR. Zenzen Spatlese 1996 QmP Rheinhessen 9.5% vol. (7)

Mouth watering high quality medium-sweet produced from "late harvested" grapes by one of Germany's top estate wine-makers - Louis Guntrum Presented in an unique blue bottle.

 

Brown Brothers Semillion 1996 from Australia 13% vol. (1)

Elegant and quite stunning with a long crisp flavour some dry finish.

Dieu Donne Chardonnay ( 8 months oak) 1995 14% vol. (2)

This is a wine totally in balance, the use of Oak age is just right to enable the wine to shine through - A class South Africa act

A particularly attractive Graves, chateau bottled by Monsieur P Boyreau.

A very clean dry wine, tasty and nicely rounded..

 

Villa Mt. Eden Chardonnay 1989 California 12.5% vol. (2)

The Napa Valley's anwser to COte d'Or Bourgogne Blanc. Lots of varietal flavour and a finish which nearly,

but not quite emulates the finesse and subtlety of the French masters.

 

Pouilly Fume AC "Domaine des Berthiers" 1997 13% vol. (1)

From one of the top vineyards of Pouilly Fume. Afruity but sharp pale wine, superb with fish.

Goldwater "Dog Point" Sauvignon Blanc 1996 12.5% vol. (2)

A amazing masterpiece from KIm Goldwater, made at his estate on Waiheke Island, New Zealand, but from grapes shown a Malborough. A lovely intensely flavoured wine ripe and spicy.

 

Chablis AC 1997 Moreau "Domaine de Fleur Pain" 12% vol. (1)

Fresh and white, crisp and stony classical Chardonnay from the single estate wine.

 

Castell de Fransola 1990 12% vol. (1)

Top of the range from Miguel Torres. This single "Pago" white wine is a fascinating blend of white Sauvignon grapes and the local Penedes grape Parellada. Nice juicy fruit with with a hint of "smoky" oak - A very attractive wine.

 

Tokay Pinot Gris AC Alsace 13% vol. (3)

Made by the Jean-Baptise Adam. Big fruity, spict, medium dry white wine that aromatic bouquet so typical of the region

Produced by the "guru" of Pendes, Miguel Torres, made from a blend of Garnacha and Carinena grapes, oak aged for a couple of years and matured in bottle for a further three years before released on the market
