part 1 - the use of popular songs in films

In the 1990s, it is common for a big-budget Hollywood film to feature a soundtrack comprising of pop songs of varying number - any number from one (as with Bryan Adams" "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" from Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves), to several, as with Whitney Houston's soundtrack for The Bodyguard. The use of popular songs in films seems to have changed since its first appearance in the 1950s.
