There are several essays and books that focus on music video and Music Television, including E. Ann Kaplan's Rocking Around the Clock (1987), Sound and Vision (1993) edited by Simon Frith, Andrew Goodwin and Laurence Grossberg; Andrew Goodwin's Dancing in the Distraction Factory (1993). These are the books that I have chosen to discuss, as well as essays by Philip Hayward (Industrial Light and Magic: Style, Technology and Special Effects in Music Video and Music Television) and Melanie Morton (Don"t Go for Second Sex, Baby! from Cathy Swichtenberg's The Madonna Connection, 1993)
