Part One - Historical Background
Part Two - Concept and Site Design

This project uses a frame-based system, which allows the author some control over how the page appears on the computer screen at the user end. The size of frames can be fixed so that users cannot manually change elements of an author's page. The page layout will be adjusted by the user's computer depending on the receiver's screen size, though fixed frames can act as navigational facilities present throughout a user's browse through the site. On WPMRP, these appear throughout as orange navigation buttons down the left side of the screen, or as multicoloured buttons at the top of individual pages within the site, such as the Welsh Band Database, Welsh Bands Weekly and Gog Rock sites.
Window-based systems on the other hand require the user to scroll down the page to find or return to specific parts of any document. This project makes use of both linked and scrolling systems, for ease of navigation in long documents. For example, The Welsh Band Database is one document divided into separate sections -
which can be viewed individually either by scrolling down through the document, or by instant access by clicking on the appropriate button at the top of the screen.
Not all Internet browser software currently supports frames, and due to time restraints, the project is not currently available in a non-frame format. This means that users will need Netscape 3, Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or above to view these pages correctly (see system requirements).
