How has the Internet changed the way companies, especially record companies and music software companies, do business.

    • Music promotion - Band sites, music genre sites, discussion groups etc. What advantages are to be found in promoting a band or a product on the Internet, and how do companies do it?

    • Web Fanzines - The Internet allows previously text-only forms of fanzines to experiment with sound and video. How do papers such as NME and other music-based webzines utilise music to improve their presentation?

    • Retailing - Companies such as CD Now and Music Boulevard are taking on traditional music retailers by selling directly from the Internet by credit card. How do they do this, how is the industry set to grow, and how do they compete against each other for custom?

    • Bitcasting - Radio stations broadcast not only audio but video down the Internet. What are the benefits, the technologies involved and the differences between Webcasting and broadcasting?

    • Music delivery systems/Music on demand - How is the Internet going to change the way we buy music? We can now record tracks directly into our computers, and pay only for the songs we want. What technology makes this possible and who is at the forefront?
